Simple Dip Ideas for College Football TailgatesSandwich Dips, Fruit Dips, and Other Easy-to-Make Party Dips
One of the most popular foods at a college football tailgate is chips and dip. The following sections describe dips that are both simple to prepare and delicious to eat.
A popular tailgate food is dip. Various dips are found at many college football tailgates. From simple cheese dips to heated artichoke dips, there are a variety of dips tailgaters can serve. The type of dip a tailgater chooses to serve often depends on the amount of time it takes to prepare that dip. Since most tailgaters prefer easy-to-make foods, this article offers ideas for serving simple dips. Sandwich Dips Spread Over Mini Toast SlicesTailgaters can put a spin on a classic sandwich by serving a sandwich dip, which they can serve with mini toast slices. A popular sandwich dip is the BLT. A simple BLT dip consists of mixing together two pounds of cooked chopped bacon, two cups of mayonnaise, two cups of sour cream, two teaspoons of paprika, and two cans of diced tomatoes that have been drained (serve chilled). Fruit Dips That Accompany Fresh Fruit SlicesAn idea for a simple tailgating dessert is fruit dip. Fruit dips can be served with fresh fruit slices, such as apple, banana, and strawberry slices, or whatever fruit that is in season and available. One of the easiest fruit dip recipes requires just two ingredients: eight ounces of packaged cream cheese and seven ounces of jar marshmallow crème. Simply mix the two ingredients together (serve chilled). Vegetable Dips Paired with Sliced VeggiesFor a healthy alternative, tailgaters can make vegetable dips and serve them with carrot and celery slices. There are dozens of recipes for vegetable dips, such as spinach dip and onion dip. One of the simplest vegetable dips to make, however, does not require actual vegetables. For an easy-to-make vegetable dip, mix together a half-cup of mayonnaise, 16 ounces of sour cream, and Knorr’s vegetable recipe mix (serve chilled). Bean Dip and Salsa Served with Tortilla ChipsFor a dip that is served hot, tailgaters can make bean dip. One of the easiest ways for making bean dip is to line a pan with one can of refried beans, spread a jar of salsa over the beans, and then sprinkle a package of shredded cheese over the salsa. Then, microwave the dip until the cheese has melted and serve with tortilla chips. Another dip that is served with tortilla chips is salsa. For tailgaters who do not have any time to prepare a dip, a jar of salsa is a convenient choice. If the tailgater does have some time to prepare a dip, then he or she can mix whipped cream cheese into the salsa for a creamier version of the dip. Whether they’re served warm or chilled, dips are popular tailgating foods. There are several different dips that tailgaters can prepare: sandwich dips served with mini toast slices, fruit dips served with fruit slices, veggie dips served with vegetable slices, and bean and salsa dips served with tortilla chips. If a tailgater doesn’t have any time to prepare a dip, then he or she can always serve a jar of salsa.
